Help with your Council Tax
If you are on a low income, you may be eligible for Council Tax reduction.
Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for a discount on your Council tax. The discounts include:
- disabled person reduction,
- student exemption, and
- single person discount.
Help with your rent
If you are working age and on a low income, you may be eligible for
Universal Credit.
- a pensioner and on a low income,
- entitled to a severe disablement premium within the other benefits you receive, or
- living in supported accommodation.
Disability benefit support
Our disability benefit support team can help you and your family if you want to apply for benefits such as:
- Disability Living Allowance (DLA),
- Personal Independence Payments (PIP), and
- Carer’s Allowance.
If your application has been rejected, we can also support you in asking for DWP to reconsider your application and taking appeals to the Tribunal, if appropriate.

Personal Independence Payment
If you are under state pension age and have a disability or care needs, you may be eligible for Personal Independence Payments (PIP) to help with living costs.
PIP is paid in two parts, and the payments you receive depend on your disability and care needs.
