Emergency help for food
If you urgently need food, our
Money Advice Team, Hubs and Advice Line can issue vouchers for emergency food.
The Emergency Assistance payment is a grant to help pay for essential costs, such as food, if you:
- are experiencing extreme financial hardship,
- have lost your job, or
- have applied for benefits and are waiting for your first payment.
Free School Meals
Primary and secondary school pupils can get free school meals, if their family gets certain benefits.
