Motorcycle Training

Motorcycles provide efficient and affordable personal transport for many people in the Cardiff area. However, motorcyclists are the highest risk groups on the road.

Various resources and training courses exist to enable established riders to improve their skills and to keep themselves safe, or to help fellow motorcyclists who have previously been involved in an accident.

BikeSafe is an initiative run by Police Forces around the United Kingdom who work with the whole of the biking world to help to lower the number of motorcycle rider casualties. By passing on their knowledge, skills and experience, police motorcyclists can help you become a safer more competent rider.

This is a one day course, held on a Saturday, and spaces are subsidised by Cardiff Council as part of the Welsh Government’s Road Safety Framework.

The card is kept in the lining of the right hand side of a helmet and is indicated by a green dot sticker that is supplied as part of the scheme. These cards are available free of charge from the Road Safety and Training team.

This is a Road Safety Wales initiative supported by MAG, Welsh local authorities, the Ambulance, Fire and Rescue, and Police services.
